Soar
It’s summer 2021 and I want to get away. I feel I need a shift in perspective; to see the world from a different place, to experience a different culture, climate, eat different food and disrupt my routine.
I’m aware there is a collective yearning for this after a year of change and trauma for many that perhaps we won’t fully process for some time to come.
This series of paintings come from an awareness and longing for the hope, joy and shift in perspective that can occur if we are lucky enough to visit a far-away-place and take a holiday. Many of us won’t get to do this in the usual ways this year and I want to take you to that place through my art.
Get out of your head and find a sense of peace and perspective through this painting. We are only here for a short-stay after all. Breathe deep, smell the salty air and ground yourself right here.
